The Compass

About Me
My name is Katelyn, but everyone calls me Katie. I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas primarily on a little farm. The first thing you should know about me is that I have always been a ridiculously motivated person to the point where I give up my whole life to accomplish something. For instance, I saw stunt riding at a rodeo as a child and as if a switch flipped in my brain, I knew I had to do it. After years of self-discipline, learning to simply ride, and constant networking, I became a professional trick rider on horses when I was fifteen years old (I'll include my video link below!) and am now a student-athlete with the Texas A&M equestrian team. While juggling school and athletics, I worked for 12th Man Productions for a year and loved being able to film

live-action sports and learn about the world of broadcast, editing, and live television.
Obviously, I am an avid traveler and this journey began after I had saved up for years to see the world and decided this was the best time to go for it even if I was exploring solo. This expanded my interest in international business, therefore, I interned in Hong Kong for a marketing agency this past summer. Working for them amidst the political turmoil and protests in the city was an indescribable learning experience and I will never forget the team aspect and support that everyone in the company had for one another. Along with working internationally, I have participated in two study abroad programs totaling 7 months abroad and am currently on exchange in Venice, Italy. As a student at Mays Business School, I look forward to exploring my "niche" within the creative business world while incorporating my passion for songwriting and film. In my free time, you can find me writing lots of songs, doing stunts on horseback, scuba diving, or buying a plane ticket to go backpacking by myself across foreign terrain.
I can only hope this website will provide a bit of insight for those who are as in love with the world as I am.
